DRPC is one of the largest and most active clubs in the Virginia Region of the United States Pony Club and we always welcome new members. However, before applying, all applicants and their parents should first familiarize themselves with the material in the DRPC Handbook (elsewhere on this site), especially under the headings "Parents Responsibility" and "DRPC Membership." While the rewards of Pony Club are too numerous to mention here, it takes a serious commitment on the part of both the new member and their parents to make this work. Additionally, since Pony Club group lessons are a mainstay of our educational program, we ask that, minimally, your child and their pony must be able to walk, trot and canter independently, within a group setting, before you sign them up. A child and/or pony who is unable to walk, trot, canter in a group setting can create an unsafe situation for the other participants and may be excused from lessons at the discretion of the instructor. Be aware that DRPC mounted lessons are held at Frying Pan Park in the spring and fall so you will need access to a trailer in order to attend. We encourage you to discuss your childs needs and desires with a current DRPC member before you sign up to help ensure the most positive experience possible for you and your child. We also invite you to come watch some of our lessons and meet our members before signing up. Please understand that membership paperwork must be processed through both the United States Pony Club office in Kentucky and through the Virginia Region Pony Club in Madison, VA. Please allow 1-2 weeks for processing from the time you submit your paperwork until the time your child is covered by USPC insurance and may legally attend DRPC activities.
To apply, the following paperwork must be submitted with originial signatures:

6. Negative Coggins report (Must have 4 copies for EACH horse you plan to take to lessons.)
7. Signed "Parents Responsibility Pledge" from the Handbook app\DRPC Parents responsibility form.htm
8. A check for the appropriate amount for USPC, Regional and DRPC dues. This amount can be found on the DRPC Application.
